Surrendering to adulthood
In recovery, we say that surrender is going over to the winning side.
Given what’s happening in the world, the language there is cringe, but the sentiment still works: surrendering to the truth of a person or situation is actually a positive thing, and opens a door to positive change.
Here’s the thing about change: Unfortunately, it’s hard.
It’s uncomfortable.
You have no idea how long it’s going to last, so it’s impossible to control and impossible to plan. It is an exercise in going with the flow.
